Still scared, I raised the stakes to something impossible. I said I would only do it if they were parked beside me. Out of every car in that parking lot, the mother was parked right next to mine—in the exact same make and model of PT Cruiser I was driving.
Spirit had met every condition I set. So I took a breath, walked over, and said, “I’m sorry to trouble you… but did you come here tonight hoping for a message from your dad and your grandfather?”
They said yes.
They understood every single detail he gave me. I stood in that parking lot and watched grief turn into joy before my eyes. The things left unsaid finally found closure. Those two women drove home knowing the love they shared with him didn’t end when he passed to Spirit… and it never will.
I watched healing and transformation happen right before me that night. And I knew, in that moment, exactly why I was born.

You’ll find me at home in Vancouver, British Columbia with my husband and our pets. I’m a mom to two adult kids I’m endlessly proud of, and I talk to my own mom every single day… we’re that close.
The rest is simple: golf on TV with my husband (or at the range, practising my swing), cheering on the Blue Jays at a ball game, and two trips a year to Maui because I’ll never say no to sunshine. My perfect morning is a slow one… peppermint tea, the couch, and the pets piled beside me.
